of Medicine of the University of Cologne and the University Hospital Cologne assume important social
tasks in research, teaching and patient care. A close network with many university and non-university
partners guarantees an internationally successful science and the excellent education of our students.

Your future in detail
The Collaborative Research Center 1218 Mitochondrial Regulation of cellular function is an
interdisciplinary research network of several faculties and institutions, funded by the German Research
Foundation (DFG). The research mission is to study how mitochondria influence activity, differentiation
and survival of the cell. The CRC 1218 is organized in seventeen scientific and five central projects. The
bioanalytical central project (Zo2) has been developed to meet the challenging demand of a systematic
analysis of how mitochondria interfere with cellular functions and provides a broad spectrum of
methods to dissect cellular and tissue metabolism at the bioenergetics, metabolite, and proteome level.
The bioanalytical platform is equipped with state-of-the-art mass spectrometers for proteomics and
metabolomics analysis. We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to run the metabolomics subplatform
of project Zo2 and provide support for the CRC research groups. The job holder will have the
unique opportunity to participate in diverse high impact metabolomics projects across health and
disease and will work in close collaboration with the mass spectrometrists of the grou12 of Prof. Frezza
and the CECAD Lipidomics/Metabolomics Facility.
Applications from female candidates are expressly welcome and will be given priority in the event of
equal suitability, competence and professional performance.
People with disabilities are welcome to apply and will be treated preferentially in the event of equal
suitability and qualification.
The position is suitable for staffing with part-time employees.
