The LC-MS Interest Group is an open community for everyone interested in liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (LC-MS). We provide a platform to connect, share ideas, and stay informed about current developments in the field. Everyone interested in learning more about LC-MS is warmly invited to join — the group offers an excellent starting point for newcomers and early-career scientists.
We aim to foster dialogue and promote knowledge exchange across the broad and dynamic field of LC-MS, with a focus on clinical, biomedical, and biological research, as well as routine industrial applications. Our group provides a forum to discuss developments in the rapidly evolving LC-MS landscape, address analytical challenges, and share practical experience.
Core topics we focus on include:
- Sample preparation strategies and automation
- Separation and purification of analytes via liquid chromatography
- Ionization techniques and LC-MS interfaces
- Mass analyzers, including Orbitrap, triple quadrupole, time-of-flight (TOF), and ion mobility spectrometry (IMS)
- Acquisition strategies (e.g. DIA, DDA, SRM, PRM)
- Data analysis workflows and software
- Method optimization and troubleshooting
- Quality control of LC-MS runs
