The company has more than 700 members coming from universities, industry, research facilities and government laboratories. The interest of the members is the development of techniques and mass spectrometry devices, their application to analytical as well as fundamental questions and the detection of substances in chemistry, biosciences, medicine, geology, forensics and physics.

The company organizes conferences and workshops. With the support of sponsors, the company awards the “Wolfgang-Paul Prize” for the best diploma and doctoral thesis in the field of mass spectrometry, the Mattauch-Herzog sponsorship prize and the “Life Science Prize” for outstanding mass spectrometry work the field of biosciences.
